AFTA, the Cork, Ireland-based professional pilot training organisation, has announced the placement of a dozen of its recent graduates as pilots with one of Europe's fastest-growing airlines. Hired by OSM Aviation Group on behalf of low-cost carrier Norwegian, the 12 new commercial pilots will shortly commence type rating training, to fly one of the newest fleets in the world.

Captain Mark Casey, CEO and Head of Training at AFTA, said "We are delighted that OSM Aviation has selected our graduates on behalf of their prestigious client Norwegian. It is testament to the high training standards that AFTA has achieved on behalf of its students and airline clients around the world.

Norwegian Air International's support for AFTA and Irish flight schhool graduates through OSM is evidence of their commitment to creating high skilled aviation industry jobs and supporting the Irish flight training industry. Aviation training, support services and route expansion out of Cork airport are vital growth ingredients for the local economy and I am delighted to see positive progress in this regard."

Norwegian flies more than 110 aircraft including Boeing 737-800s for its short-haul operations and Boeing 787 Dreamliners for its long-haul operation.
