AAR, through its partnership with Aviation institute of Maintenance (AIM), will award employees with a 10% tuition grant towards an aviation maintenance technician program at any of AIM’s 14 campuses nationwide.

This tuition grant is intended to create a pathway to earning FAA certifications for additional AAR employees. AAR’s workforce already includes a number of licensed employees, and AIM boasts a high percentage of graduates completing their certificates. Through this tuition assistance agreement, AAR and AIM seek to continue enhancing the qualifications of aviation maintenance technicians.

AAR and AIM celebrated the tuition grant agreement with a signing event at the AIM Chicago campus. During the event, AAR announced that its Fellowship Program will expand to include AIM Chicago. The AAR Fellowship Program offers select students a scholarship to attend AIM while working for AAR. Following successful completion of the program, graduates are guaranteed employment with AAR.

AAR and AIM developed a formal relationship in 2018, when AIM became a partner in AAR’s EAGLE Pathway Program, designed to meet the growing need for talent in aviation maintenance. Many AIM graduates have launched successful careers at AAR’s MRO locations across the U.S.

“AAR has been a premier employer of AIM’s students for decades, and over the past few years, we have partnered together to make college more affordable for students and jobs more attainable for our graduates,” said Joel English, AIM’s Executive Vice President. “Our new partnership with AAR takes our relationship to a new level by directly reducing tuition costs for AAR’s current workforce. AAR’s employees can earn their FAA certifications while employed and increase their credentials and earning power in order to boost their careers to the next level.”
