Join us at Heywood House on Tuesday 22nd November for a talk from General Sir Nick Carter, GCB CBE DSO on "The Global Strategic Context - The Impact on UK Defence", chaired by Sir Simon Bollom, KBE CB FREng, followed by Q&A, drinks, and canapes.

The event is part of the ongoing 'Heywood House Talks' series where business leaders come to share valuable insight, and guests can engage in networking.

General Sir Nick Carter is an accomplished strategic leader and advisor. He has over 45 years’ military experience culminating at the top of his profession as the Chief of the Defence Staff where he was the principal military advisor to the Prime Minister and the Head of the UK Armed Forces. He also served as the Chief of the General Staff, professional Head of the British Army. He is an expert on defence and geopolitical affairs, transformational and strategic leadership, and inclusivity.

Sir Simon Bollom graduated from Southampton University in 1981 with an honours degree in mechanical engineering. He served in the RAF as an engineering officer for 35 years and his last appointment was as Chief of Materiel (Air) in Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) and RAF Chief Engineer on the Air Force Board. During his service career, he served in a variety of operational and staff appointments, with the last 15 years focussed on acquisition and support delivery.
