The Latin American & Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) announced the launching of the Latin American & Caribbean ATPG Chapter, a collaborative group composed of airlines and suppliers that will work with States, industry organizations and key stakeholders to contribute to effective, efficient and relevant flight crew training worldwide. 

This group works as an extension of the ALTA Pilot Training Committee, which gathers 12 airlines, and is chaired by Copa Airlines and Flybondi. For the first time, the LAC region will have this collaborative group, which will strengthen the work the ALTA committee is doing to achieve standardization and improvement in training.

“We are delighted to bring onboard Latin America & the Caribbean to the ATPG. One of the main benefits is to collaborate and use our synergies to better support aviation industry in the different regions", commented Andy Mitchell, Chairman of the ATPG Europe, who explained that the European group started in 2014 to support the communication and collaboration with EASA.

Ana Persiani, ALTA Head of Training, expressed that “The ATPG LAC Chapter will support the work the ALTA pilot training committee is doing to promote a safe and efficient pilot training, working with all stakeholders and under the umbrella of the crews well-being and extend the collaboration with other regions in the world so we can all learn from one another and have a single voice for pilot training worldwide. The conversations, exchange of information, and experiences held during the ALTA Pilot Training Connect, as our first in person meeting, will translate into the new priorities this team will be working on in the following year. We are honored to host this group formed by Latin American & Caribbean airlines that are ready to take aviation training in the region to the next level”.

Halldale played a key role in this initiative and has been working with ALTA since the last World Aviation Training Summit (WATS) in Orlando in the first quarter of this year. As part of the initiatives held, Halldale worked with EASA to have a Spanish version of the newly released Aviation Conversation Magazine, that incorporates safety, operational and training aspects, and the possibility for data exchange with other regions through the Aviation Training Leaders Forum tool, which will be incorporated into the ALTA website.

ALTA lanza Grupo Pionero de Colaboración en América Latina

ATPG es un grupo voluntario de expertos en capacitación de pilotos que contribuye a la visión de seguridad aérea sustentada por la EASA.

La Asociación Latinoamericana y del Caribe de Transporte Aéreo (ALTA) anuncia el lanzamiento del Capítulo Latinoamericano y del Caribe de ATPG, un grupo de colaboración compuesto por aerolíneas y proveedores que trabajará con los Estados, las organizaciones de la industria y los principales actores para contribuir a la capacitación efectiva, eficiente y relevante de las tripulaciones de vuelo a nivel global.

Este grupo opera como una extensión del Comité de Entrenamiento de Pilotos de ALTA, que reúne a 12 aerolíneas y lo presiden Copa Airlines y Flybondi. Por primera vez, la región LAC contará con este grupo de colaboración, que fortalecerá el trabajo que el comité de ALTA está llevando a cabo para lograr la estandarización y mejora de la capacitación.

"Nos complace la incorporación de América Latina y el Caribe al ATPG. Uno de los principales beneficios es colaborar y hacer uso de nuestras sinergias para apoyar mejor a la industria aérea en las diferentes regiones", comentó Andy Mitchell, Presidente del ATPG Europa, quien explicó que el grupo europeo comenzó en 2014 como apoyo a la comunicación y colaboración con EASA.

Ana Persiani, Directora de Entrenamiento de ALTA, expresó que "El Grupo ATPG LAC apoyará el trabajo que el Comité de Entrenamiento de Pilotos de ALTA está llevando a cabo para promover la capacitación segura y eficiente de pilotos, trabajando con todos los actores clave y bajo el amparo del bienestar de las tripulaciones, así como a extender la colaboración con otras regiones del mundo para que todos podamos aprender en conjunto y tener una sola voz para la capacitación de pilotos mundialmente. Las conversaciones, el intercambio de información y las experiencias mantenidas durante el ALTA Pilot Training Connect, como nuestro primer encuentro presencial, se traducirán en las nuevas prioridades en las que este grupo trabajará el año próximo. Nos sentimos honrados de presentar a este grupo compuesto por aerolíneas de América Latina y el Caribe que están dispuestas a llevar la capacitación aérea de la región al siguiente nivel".

Halldale desempeñó un papel clave en esta iniciativa y ha venido trabajando con ALTA desde la última Cumbre Mundial de Capacitación en Aviación (WATS) celebrada en Orlando en el primer trimestre de este año. Como parte de las iniciativas llevadas a cabo, Halldale trabajó con EASA para disponer de una versión en español de la recién publicada revista Aviation Conversation Magazine, que incorpora aspectos de seguridad, operacionales y de capacitación, y la posibilidad de intercambio de datos con otras regiones a través de la herramienta Aviation Training Leaders Forum, que será incorporada al sitio web de ALTA.
