The establishment of the Latin America and Caribbean Chapter within the Aircrew Training Policy Group (ATPG) heralds a new era of collaboration and excellence in aviation training across the region.

This strategic initiative, born out of the World Aviation Training Summit (WATS), represents a concerted effort to address the unique challenges and opportunities inherent in Latin America's dynamic aviation landscape.

Following two years of dedicated focus, including the formation of a dedicated Spanish working group and region-targeted meetings, the ATPG recognized the imperative for a specialized chapter to cater to the region's expanding aviation sector.

The successful follow-up meeting in September 2023, hosted by Copa Airlines in Panamá City, Panamá, served as a testament to the growing synergy and commitment among stakeholders towards enhancing aircrew training standards.

Latin America's aviation industry has been experiencing unprecedented growth, reflected in soaring passenger traffic, substantial aircraft orders, and increasing demands for skilled crew members.

Recent statistics underscore the region's pivotal role in global aviation, with passenger numbers rising steadily and investments pouring into fleet expansion initiatives.

By establishing the Latin America and Caribbean Chapter, the ATPG aims to harness this momentum to elevate training standards, foster knowledge exchange, and promote safety across the region's airspace.

Through collaborative efforts and the sharing of best practices, the chapter seeks to address the evolving needs of the industry while ensuring alignment with international standards.

As the aviation sector continues to evolve, the Latin America and Caribbean Chapter of the ATPG stands as a beacon of progress, guiding the region towards greater efficiency, safety, and excellence in aircrew training.

Together, stakeholders are ready to navigate the skies with confidence, paving the way for a brighter future in Latin America's aviation landscape.
