Volga-Dnepr Technics Moscow (VDTM) has confirmed plans to establish an aviation training centre in Moscow which will provide classroom and practical training of engineering and maintenance staff for 747 aircraft.

The VDTM centre has been granted EASA Part-147 approval and will add to its existing network of line maintenance stations across three sites in Moscow along with facilities in Krasnoyarsk and Krasnodar.

As well as the 747, the MRO also holds approvals for servicing 737NG, 737CL and A320 family aircraft.

E.P. Kochetov, VDTM's general director, said: "I am confident the training process will increase accessibility to specialists and will be conducted on adequate levels able to meet the appropriate global industry standards and there will be more well-trained and certified aircraft maintenance engineers in Russia."
