ATR has received certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for the new 72-600 full flight simulator (FFS) based at its Paris training centre.
The FFS, manufactured by TRU Simulation + Training, is now located close to Charles de Gaulle airport. With ATR operators expected to need around 1,000 new pilots per year, the new simulator will increase the OEM’s capacity to offer customers increased pilot training solutions for the aircraft.
ATR is delivering more than 100,000 training hours per year across five training centres in Toulouse, Paris, Johannesburg, Singapore and Miami. The Miami training centre opened in February 2017 to respond to the increasing presence of the aircraft in the Americas.
The decision to introduce the new 72-600 FFS in Paris was announced in July this year.
