Turboprop manufacturer ATR is adding a brand new 72-600 full flight simulator (FFS) manufactured by CAE to its Toulouse training centre which will be ready for training from July this year.
The simulator will be both EASA and FAA-certified, enabling ATR to provide customers and operators with 4,500 additional training hours at its headquarters each year, which is in line with its customer support strategy.
“The gradual extension of ATR’s training capacity is our key contribution to solving the global pilot shortage,” explained the OEM’s SVP Programs and Customer Services, Tom Anderson.
ATR recently equipped its Paris training centre with an ATR 72-600 FFS, and it’s Toulouse centre is already equipped with simulators to support ATR 42-300/500, 72-200/500 and the latest ATR 72-600 variant.
