Halldale Media has joined forces with the International Higher Education (IHED) Group to promote the Student Education and Careers in Aviation (SECA) conference being delivered at this year's World Aviation Training Summit (WATS) at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida from 17-19 April.
The SECA conference stream brings active students and prospective airline personnel to the 2018 event, which will focus on “The Role of Technology and Data in Optimizing Career Paths, Human Performance, and Operational Safety.”
By attending SECA, students will participate in roundtable forums with regulators, airlines, maintenance organisations and other industry leaders before having the opportunity to network with more than 70 exhibitors covering aviation training and simulation, airlines and government organisations.
Lunch will be provided, and there is a modest ($10) admission fee. Students currently attending middle school, high school, and those who have just graduated (and may be attending college) are invited to participate.
“The lack of pilots and maintainers is of national, as well as global, concern and maybe the limiting factor in future airline growth," explains Andrew Smith, founder of Halldale Media. "It is also a national security issue as the number of young people interested in a flying career continues to decline. We seek to capitalise on the unique confluence of industry training professionals that has been a hallmark of WATS, and bring those just starting their career paths into our forum to both inform them of their multiple options as well as stimulate interest among our industry partners.”
“International Higher Education Group launched with the purpose of empowering students everywhere to get more choice and better access to higher education worldwide. For our aviation sector, WATS and its SECA event perfectly match our goals and those of our partner institutions,” commented Julie Filucci and Stephen Yeates, both Senior Managing Directors of Aviation at the IHED Group. IHED Group’s sophisticated web hub, MyUniversityAdvisor.com, and associated tools will launch in 2018.
The SECA concept debuted in 2016 to great success at Halldale’s event series including the Asia Pacific Airline Training Symposium (APATS) in Singapore, which saw more than 100 students attending across the two-day conference.
