ATR-72-500

Regional aircraft manufacturer ATR has implemented the Fox training management platform from Britannica Knowledge Systems (Britannica).

The Fox training management platform is now managing operations at ATR’s five training centres in Toulouse, Paris, Johannesburg, Singapore and Miami, which together see over 3,500 pilot, maintenance, flight operations and cabin crew trainees each year.

With Fox in operation, ATR can manage the training process for each customer workflow from reception to training payment while benefitting from harmonised course scheduling processes that consider training requirements, resource availability and various constraints. The platform also offers continuous instructor qualification management through advanced tools and notifications.

Furthermore, Britannica customised the Fox solution for ATR to support the activity of selling courses to other training organisations. The addition of commercial customer administration enables ATR to create and manage customer data, use this data in reports and dashboards, track training progress and document course completion. This helps ATR increase sales by identifying empty training slots and supports the proposal process by generating accurate training pricing calculations.

Britannica has also made it possible for employees to use Fox on Microsoft Surface tablets, which are deployed throughout the organisation. It provides ATR with personalised dashboards and analytic reports that examine the company’s training data for better decision-making insight.  “We are proud to be the first in regional aviation to use an advanced training management system of this type and calibre,” said Christian Commissaire, VP Training and Flight Ops Support at ATR.

Miki Ringelhim, VP Business Development at Britannica Knowledge Systems, added, “We are happy that our product had the flexibility and robustness to allow ATR to implement it independently, as they require.”

Japanese carrier All Nippon Airways is also currently rolling out Britannica's Fox training management platform.
