CAE launched the 600XR Series flight training device (FTD), its latest addition to the XR Series training equipment suite, at the 2018 World Aviation Training Summitt (WATS).
The 600XR Series is CAE’s latest generation of FTDs that provides the highest training fidelity in the fixed-based training market. It also sets new standards for initial and recurrent pilot training. The complete CAE XR Series training equipment suite covers all training phases, which offers airlines flexible training solutions for the most effective training delivery.
The CAE 600XR features a representative flight deck surround with crew seats and a fully tactile cockpit with exact panel positioning. It leverages the proven simulation fidelity, instructor interface, lesson and flight planning capabilities of the CAE 7000XR Series full-flight simulator (FFS).
The CAE Tropos 6000XR collminated visual system and a fully enclosed instructor area are also being offered as an option. This package, including the baseline CAE 600XR, meets and exceeds ICAO Type 4, FAA Part 60 Level 6 FTD and EASA II FTD qualification requirements.
“Leading innovation in training is always a top priority at CAE. The new CAE 600XR FTD embraces the latest technology in aviation and gives our partners a seamless training experience, from ground school training to FFS,” said Nick Leontidis, CAE’s Group President, Civil Aviation Training Solutions.
At WATS 2018, CAE also announced the expansion of its capabilities in the Americas and that its 7000XR Series Airbus A320 FFS has been qualified for extended envelope and adverse weather training.
