Spanish flight school European Flyers has brought two new ALSIM simulators into operation at its bases in Madrid and Mutxamel, Alicante. The Airliner and ALX devices represent a €1 million investment and extend a partnership between the two companies that goes back more than 20 years.

For students in Alicante, the biggest change is that multi-crew cooperation (MCC) training is now available locally. Until now, they would have needed to travel to Madrid for this phase. The ALX is approved for PPL, CPL, IR/SE/ME and MCC training, and its generic configuration covers up to four classes of aircraft, from single-engine and twin-engine pistons to twin turboprops and medium twin jets.

“The arrival of the ALX in Alicante allows our students to complete a key stage of their training here,” said Luis Miñano, Managing Director of European Flyers. “Multi-crew coordination requires them to apply their technical knowledge and learn to work as a team. Our collaboration with ALSIM enables us to strengthen the resources at our Mutxamel base with advanced technology, helping future pilots develop these competencies with rigour and confidence.”

In Madrid, the Airliner is an FNPT II MCC-certified device used for APS MCC and MPL Phase II training. Its hybrid configuration combines fly-by-wire and conventional controls, so students can train with both major airline cockpit philosophies. According to ALSIM, the simulator is built around APS MCC learning objectives and focuses on airline competencies including automation management, crew coordination, leadership, and threat and error management. Its generic airliner design is intended to prepare trainees for type rating training on any aircraft type.

The investment supports European Flyers’ “High Performance Aviation Training” approach and its ongoing programme to modernise its training resources.
