Egnatia Aviation participated in the fifth General Assembly of the DEMOQUAS Project, a Horizon Europe initiative focused on enhancing aviation safety through advanced, data-driven methodologies. The two-day meeting at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft, gathered researchers and industry experts from organizations including SAFRAN, Rolls-Royce, and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

The DEMOQUAS project—Designing, Manufacturing and Operating Quantification of Uncertainties to Increase Aviation Safety—is developing an integrated Uncertainty Quantification (UQ) framework for aviation systems. Key technologies include multi-fidelity modeling, digital twins, and model-based systems engineering. The project supports improvements in aircraft design, operational safety, and the evaluation of emerging propulsion systems such as sustainable aviation fuels and liquid hydrogen.

During the assembly, participants reviewed each work package, with special attention given to lifecycle safety analysis and virtual certification tool development. Collaborative sessions addressed emerging safety issues, while a presentation on contrail formation contributed to the project’s atmospheric research focus. Attendees also toured TU Delft’s aerospace research facilities.
