EPC Aviation, a newly established Kenyan flight training organisation, has taken delivery of an ELITE PI-1000 Advanced Aviation Training Device at Nairobi Wilson Airport, marking Kenya's first installation of the FAA-certified simulator.

The G1000-based device, convertible between single-engine and multi-engine piston configurations, has been installed at Kenya School of Flying headquarters. The simulator supports training from ab-initio through advanced and recurrent programs.

EPC Aviation plans to expand its simulator portfolio as part of an ambition to build Kenya's largest flight training hub, responding to growing regional demand for standardised professional pilot training. The organisation has established cooperation with Kenya Civil Aviation Authority to support the training centre's development.

"For our start project we wanted to work with the best, so naturally ELITE Simulation Solutions was the logical choice," said Walter Zünd, CEO of EPC Aviation.

The organisation is aligning its training with EASA-approved syllabi used in Europe while utilising FAA-certified equipment. The PI-1000 includes ForeFlight integration for flight planning, navigation, and systems monitoring training.

"We are excited to be part of this newly established flight training centre in Kenya, and we are already looking forward to supporting EPC Aviation on their future simulator projects," said René Huddlestone, Director of Marketing & Sales at ELITE Simulation Solutions.

No timeline for full operational capacity or student enrollment projections were disclosed. The installation reflects broader African aviation training market development as regional organisations build local capacity to reduce dependence on overseas training.
