Astrom Training Solutions has introduced the latest module of its Galaxy Training Management System: the Recurrent Training Plan (RTP), which aims to significantly streamline the management of recurrent training compared with traditional TMS platforms.
The RTP framework has been specifically designed to address the complex requirements of recurrent training in the airline industry. At its core is a generic recurrency calculation engine, capable of managing a wide range of qualification cycles, including pilot airport qualifications, maintenance engineer authorizations, and instructor certifications. By enabling automated scheduling and compliance tracking, RTP reduces the administrative workload for airline training departments.
RTP seamlessly integrates with Quality Management Systems (QMS) to ensure full alignment with Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations. Within the RTP, training activities — such as online course, online assessments, instructor-led classes, simulator checks, and line checks — are structured into comprehensive training paths. The module also supports dependencies and prerequisites, allowing for the creation of complex yet organized curricula.
By linking certificate directly to training activities, the RTP and QMS combination delivers an automated framework for managing recurrent training curricula. This enables real-time recurrency tracking, simplifies compliance oversight, and ensures consistent regulatory alignment. To date, this remains one of the few automated solutions effectively addressing the operational challenges of recurrent pilot training, according to the company.
Furthermore, the framework is fully aligned with local Regulator and IOSA curricula structures, making audits significantly more efficient. Instead of spending weeks preparing documentation and training data, training departments will soon be able to generate comprehensive audit reports in just a few clicks.
