AXIS Flight Simulation’s Bombardier Challenger CL650 full flight simulator (FFS) has achieved Level D qualification from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in the UK.
Operated by Rega, Swiss Air Rescue at Lufthansa Aviation Training (LAT) near Zürich Airport, the FFS achieved its first Level D qualification by the Swiss FOCA in November 2023.
Christian Theuermann, member of the executive board, says: “Achieving Level D certification from the CAA demonstrates our commitment to the highest industry standards and broadens our global reach. This dual certification enhances the credibility of our CL650 FFS, ensuring it meets rigorous requirements across key aviation markets.
“By meeting the specific regulatory standards of both authorities, we provide assurance to our customers that our simulators are compliant, reliable and capable of delivering the best training experience, regardless of jurisdiction.”
The CL650 FFS has a rehosted Rockwell Collins ProLine 21 avionics solution and Honeywell Mark VA EGPWS. It uses a 200x40 degree FOV Rockwell Collins EP8100 visual system and an E2M motion system. The simulator also incorporates windshear warning, synthetic vision, LPV approach, autothrottle, as well as other advanced options, and simulates 87 airports from around the world.
