Skyborne Airline Academy has launched a new partial‑entry pathway allowing students who already hold an FAA Private Pilot Certificate (PPL) to join its FAA Part 141 programme at the Instrument Rating stage.
The change means incoming students will no longer need to retake the PPL and will receive credit for their existing certificate, reducing overall training costs.
Skyborne says the pathway enables PPL‑qualified students to progress through Instrument Rating, Commercial Single Engine, Commercial Multi Engine and Certified Flight Instructor training within a structured professional track. Applicants must meet Skyborne’s standard entry requirements, including holding an FAA First Class Medical and a high‑school diploma.
Before joining the main pathway, students complete Skyborne’s Flightline Orientation Course (FLO), which includes ground and flight elements to assess competency against FAA Airman Certification Standards.
William Hulse, Group Head of Sales, said the initiative opens opportunities for PPL holders looking to advance toward roles such as airline pilot, cargo pilot or certified flight instructor.
