StaplesVR, a New Zealand-based immersive technology company, is raising $7 million in its first capital round to support the expansion of its virtual reality (VR) training platform. The company focuses on delivering scalable, high-skill training for first responders, defense forces (excluding weapons and combat), and aviation personnel through immersive simulation.

StaplesVR’s platform enables lifelike simulation-based training without the need for travel to remote sites or access to high-value assets. The goal is to reduce risk, lower operational costs, and increase accessibility to critical training across multiple industries. By offering remote and interactive modules, the platform also contributes to lowering the carbon footprint of traditional training programs.

The capital raise will enable StaplesVR to scale its product development, grow its international customer base, and expand its team. The company aims to meet increasing global demand for safe, efficient, and accessible training solutions across critical sectors.

In addition to its core VR products, StaplesVR supports workforce development through initiatives such as Click Studios, a co-working space with professional production resources, and the Click Foundation, which provides scholarships and educator training in immersive technology.

The funding round is led by impact investment firm Soul Capital, which supports StaplesVR’s efforts to retain local creative talent and grow New Zealand’s presence in the global tech sector. StaplesVR has previously developed immersive training and experience solutions for organizations including Qantas, New Zealand Defence, Starship Hospital, Warner Brothers, and Disney.
