Norxe P60 4K n-shift projectors are at the heart of two visual display systems delivered by project: syntropy for Pilatus Aircraft Ltd in Stans, Switzerland.
Developed for the new Pilatus PC-7 MKX Flight Training Devices (FTDs), each system combines a 4-metre SYNJETSIM fibreglass dome with a five-channel 4K projection system, providing a 220° horizontal field of view and a vertical field of view from -42.5° to +90°.
“We are extremely proud to be working with project: syntropy on such a high-profile installation for Pilatus,” said Henning Kirchner, Director of Business Development Central & Eastern Europe and Benelux at Norxe. “Simulation environments like this place huge demands on the visual system, where image quality, speed and consistency across every channel are critical.
The projectors are equipped with Aechelon image-generation technology. The P60 delivers up to 8K@240Hz imagery, and its solid-state NXL illumination platform has more than 60,000 hours of rated illumination lifetime.
Each P60 was paired with Norxe’s N1 Extra Wide Zoom lens, allowing a 0.80 – 1.25:1 throw ratio at 4K UHD resolution. The N1 features an all-glass optical design, Scheimpflug adjustment and Norxe’s Lens Lock technology.
The visual display solution was designed and integrated by project: syntropy and incorporates automatic calibration and optical blend masks to create a continuous image across the dome.
