ELITE Simulation Solutions is supporting the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) with the integration of an ELITE G1000 AATD simulator, aimed at strengthening pilot training capabilities.

The ELITE G1000 AATD platform was selected to support the RBDF's efforts to enhance training quality and provide crews with a realistic and flexible environment for procedural instruction, instrument flight training, avionics familiarization, navigation exercises and operational decision-making. Based on Garmin G1000 avionics architecture, the simulator combines flight dynamics, systems simulation and configurable training scenarios within an FAA-approved Advanced Aviation Training Device platform.

The simulator allows pilots to practice IFR procedures, communication workflows, emergency situations, weather-related scenarios and mission-oriented training exercises, while reducing dependency on live aircraft operations for certain instructional activities.

The RBDF Air Wing, established in 1981, provides aviation support across the Bahamas, including aerial surveillance, search and rescue, medical evacuation, and personnel and cargo transport, based at Windsor Field.
