Cubic Defense has secured a follow-on contract from Lockheed Martin to deliver 140 P5 Internal Subsystem (IS) units supporting F-35 Lot 21 production aircraft. Leonardo DRS is supporting as principal subcontractor.

The P5 capability enables 4th and 5th-generation aircraft to train together in live flight events while protecting tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP). The system captures, transmits, and analyses training data across a globally connected network, supporting live and post-mission insights across more than 30 ranges in 17 countries.

"Modern air combat training depends on trusted, real-time data," said Tammy L. Schmidt, Vice President and General Manager of Advanced Training Solutions, Cubic Defense. "Our P5 capability delivers the data needed to accelerate decisions, strengthen operational advantage and enhance readiness for U.S. and allied forces."

The P5 IS supports the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, and coalition partners, enabling joint exercises through time, space, and position information (TSPI) data sharing. This award follows a contract Cubic secured in November 2025 supporting the same F-35 training programme.
