The U.S. Navy celebrated a milestone this week in Corpus Christi, Texas, as the first four naval aviators graduated from the new T-54A Multi-Engine Training System (METS) program under Training Air Wing FOUR.

The T-54A, declared operational in May 2024, replaces the long-serving T-44C Pegasus after more than 40 years. Built on the King Air 260 platform, it features advanced avionics, digital displays, and enhanced safety systems. The new program integrates high-fidelity simulators and an updated curriculum, aligning training more closely with operational aircraft such as the P-8A Poseidon, E-6B Mercury, and C-130J Hercules.

With these graduates moving on to fleet assignments, the Navy plans to expand T-54A training as more aircraft and simulators arrive.
