Schemata, a spatial AI company focused on defense and enterprise simulation, has emerged from stealth with $5 million in seed funding. The company is building a platform that transforms 2D visuals into immersive 3D environments using reality capture and embedded contextual data. This enables realistic, AI-assisted training with a virtual instructor that recognizes objects, processes user input, and delivers real-time feedback.
According to Schemata, the platform allows training content to be created significantly faster and more affordably than traditional methods. Currently deployed in defense, energy, and infrastructure sectors, the system aims to expand access to high-fidelity simulations beyond elite units.
Over the past eight months, Schemata has secured $3.4 million in contracts from the U.S. Department of Defense. The platform’s goal is to make spatially-aware AI agents capable of interacting with physical environments, mirroring the evolution of language models in digital spaces. Owl Ventures led the funding round, joined by several early-stage investors.
