A Norwegian startup, Fynd Reality, has supported Ukraine’s military by providing virtual reality goggles to train crews of donated Leopard 2A4 tanks.

Contracted by the Norwegian Defense University College, the company developed a user-friendly training solution accessible via a secure cloud platform. The software was built from scratch using 3D scans, images, and manuals, and designed to be visual and simple, requiring no programming from end users. The VR system enables training without removing tanks from the battlefield and offers a more immersive alternative to traditional methods. Encryption safeguards were critical due to export rules, while a Ukrainian refugee and graphic designer played a key role in overcoming language and cultural barriers. The VR goggles were included as part of Norway’s military aid to Ukraine, alongside tank donations from several NATO countries.
