VRAI has launched a new mission visualization, briefing, and rehearsal product called VADE at DSEI 2025 in London. VADE is an Extended Reality (XR) platform designed to support military mission planning by combining geospatial visualization with integrated planning tools. The system aims to improve situational clarity and decision-making speed for commanders.
The platform has been in development for five years in collaboration with military end users and technology providers, including Unreal Engine, XR headsets, and Cesium geospatial products. VADE builds on earlier projects such as THEIA, a collaboration with jHUB, part of the UK Ministry of Defence. The product also builds on work with the RAF’s ASTRA innovation fund and other international users.
Lt Col Dan Sawyers RM, Head of jHub, commented: “For the last 12 months, jHub have been working with VRAI to deliver project THEIA, integrating VR and XR into mission planning to enhance our ability to plan and execute. THEIA has seen success with users and is a great example of jHub's prime offering, being able to solve defence's problems with novel technology to enable operational advantage. There is an exciting future ahead of THEIA as we look to scale and expand the reach of this capability, if you are a military potential user, please get in touch with the jHub."
VRAI Managing Director for Product & Customers, Niall Campion, said: "VADE will complement our core product, HEAT, which allows users to capture, store, analyse and visualise human performance data. We are excited to see how customers from the military and beyond will use VADEs immersive, intuitive 3D environments to reduce cognitive load and improve operational understanding.”
