The 23rd European Aviation Training Summit (EATS) officially opened its doors today, marking the largest attendance in the event’s history.

Delegates from airlines, ATOs, OEMs, regulators and solution providers have gathered in Lisbon for two days of high-level discussion, collaboration and insight into the future of aviation training.

While the conference and exhibition open fully today, Tuesday 4th November set the tone with several sold-out workshops, including the Heads of Training Meetings for both Pilots and Cabin Crew, and an AI in Aviation Training Workshop hosted by Cedric Paillard, Airline Pilot Club, and Brock Boher, Hilo Aviation.

All workshops reached maximum capacity, reflecting the strength of engagement and the appetite across the community for meaningful dialogue and practical learning.

The Heads of Training Meetings remain one of the most important fixtures in the aviation training calendar, a rare opportunity for global leaders to meet face-to-face, discuss emerging challenges, and share insights that will help shape future regulations, best practices and implementation strategies across the sector.

Equally, the AI in Aviation Training Workshop offered essential guidance at a time when artificial intelligence is transforming how training is designed, delivered and validated. As AI tools evolve at extraordinary pace, the workshop explored how adoption across the training ecosystem can enable more collaborative, data-driven and adaptive learning environments.

From today, the EATS 2025 Conference will explore a wide range of topics vital to the aviation training community, from CBTA and EBT implementation to instructor standardisation, VR and XR integration, and regulatory harmonisation.

Across the exhibition floor, attendees will meet a diverse range of exhibitors, including many new participants joining EATS for the first time, showcasing the latest simulation technologies, digital learning tools, and training innovations driving progress worldwide.

Last night’s Icebreaker Reception once again proved a highlight of the week, a lively and packed gathering that spilled out onto the surrounding patios, setting the tone for what promises to be another outstanding event.

Today’s Exhibitor Networking Session continues that momentum, providing another opportunity for delegates to engage, share ideas and build partnerships across the global aviation training community.

Now in its 23rd year, EATS continues to deliver unparalleled value to attendees and exhibitors alike, a trusted space where collaboration drives change, ideas become action, and the collective expertise of the industry shapes the next generation of aviation training.
