Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced that a second round of virtual reality training for law enforcement officers will launch in June. The program, delivered through the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy, includes six new modules filmed in Ohio using real actors and 360-degree cameras.
The scenarios simulate high-stress situations involving mental health crises, de-escalation, and ethical decision-making. The state has purchased 160 VR headsets for use across agencies. A third round of modules is currently in development.
