If you only follow simulation and training news within your own sector, you're missing out on growth opportunities. Whether you're building simulation hardware, developing content, or managing training operations, learning how other industries tackle similar challenges can spark innovation, expand your market, and strengthen your business. That’s why we created Safety Critical Training—a new resource from Halldale that connects lessons learned and breakthroughs across healthcare, aviation, maritime, transport, and more. As a leading publisher with a long history in the simulation and training industry, we believe the time to diversify your training is right now, at this moment.
Halldale’s journey with this industry began 40-plus years ago with the defense use of simulation for training. At that point there was as much talk of pyrotechnics and live ranges as there was of laser based small arms simulation (a new development) and computer-based graphics (circular or triangular trees, angular hills etc.).
Six years later, some of our MS&T clients approached us with some major airlines to request a magazine with global reach to spread the news of flight simulation (for the flag carriers only) around the world. The decision had been taken to move training out of the aircraft and into simulators, and, pre-internet, they needed a way of communicating ideas en masse -- hence CAT magazine which has evolved into our website department https://www.halldale.com/civil-aviation and supplemental, regular e-newsletters.
In 2007, we launched MedSim, covering the emerging healthcare simulation space and ran that for 12 years before launching Safety Critical Training to replace it in 2019.
Simulation and modeling are now deployed across all defense, airline and healthcare sub communities and have spread into adjacent fields like law enforcement and disaster management.
The comparatively recent development of XR technologies and the increasing reliability of AI have transformed the space, and we have seen a steady broadening of the use of our training technologies.
We have upped our monitoring of these new spaces and new suppliers as industry growth has become evident; and by our calculation, the sector development is accelerating. As we have been publishing news over the past five years, the volume of contracts, new industry start-ups in the sector, industry collaboration and mergers and acquisitions, and vast range of applications are at levels we have not seen before.
This week’s search illustrates this well, with stories in Healthcare, Construction, Hospitality, Workforce development, Utilities, Airlines, Defense, Universities and Mental health from all continents. And this only covers training applications!
We invite you to follow developments in the quick-paced Safety Critical Industries sector at https://www.halldale.com/safety-critical-industries.
