CAE announced at the 2017 World Aviation Training Conference and Tradeshow (WATS) a series of commercial aviation training solutions contracts and agreements with airlines worldwide, including Scandinavian Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Korean Air and new Chinese customer Donghai Airlines. These agreements, valued at more than C$375 million, form part of the orders awarded to CAE during its fourth quarter of fiscal year 2017. They involve comprehensive cadet-to-captain training programs and the sale of 11 more full flight simulators (FFS), which brings CAE's total FFS sales for fiscal year 2017 to 50.

The agreements include new ab-initio pilot training programs for the creation of more than 380 professional pilots over the next five years to an undisclosed customer in Asia, and 100 professional pilots to an undisclosed customer in the Middle East.

An exclusive training contract renewal has been signed for an addition two years for Airbus A320 and Boeing 737NG pilot training as well as cabin crew recruitment and training for Scandinavian Airlines in Europe.

The full flight simulator sales include one Airbus A350 FFS and one CAE 500XR Series flight training device for Ethiopian Airlines; one Boeing 737NG FFS and one CAE 400XR Series flight training device for Donghai Airlines in China; one C Series CS300 FFS to Korean Air; one Airbus A320 FFS and one CAE 400XR Series Airbus Pilot Transition (APT) trainer to the Airbus Training Centre in Europe; one Airbus A320 FFS to Avenger Flight Group in the US; one Boing 737NG FFS to ChongQing Yu Xiang Aviation in China; five FFS, including one Airbus A320, two Airbus A330, one Airbus A350 and one Boeing 767 to undisclosed customers in Asia and in North America; and over C$170 million in training centre operations, maintenance and updates services to customers worldwide, maintaining training assets and upgrading them to the latest aircraft fleet standard.
