The National Modeling and Simulation Coalition (NM&SC) offers an opportunity for the entire simulation community including industry, academic and government workers from around the country to explore the impact of Modeling, Simulation and Visualization in the future of manufacturing, healthcare and workforce.

It doesn’t matter if the simulation is being done in the air, on the ground, in the private sector or under government contract, this coalition is being set up to advance the cause of simulation across multiple disciplines.

Advanced modeling, simulation and visualization technologies are giving researchers and industries the opportunity to innovate in ways that were once unimaginable. The NM&SC, an organization chartered in 2012, will be holding its annual meeting September 25-26 at The Henry in Dearborn, Michigan. The Meeting’s theme will be, "MS&V: Revolutionizing analytics, manufacturing, healthcare, and product design - and the need to train the workforce to support it."

At the meeting, there will be expert keynote speakers and panelists from a variety of disciplines who will give attendees insight into how deep learning and artificial intelligence are sparking significant change in practices within the industry. Panel discussions will address topics such as emerging trends for training a workforce and more.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to take a tour of The Henry Ford Greenfield Village and the Ford Motor Company’s Ford Immersive Vehicle Environment (FiVE) Laboratory. These tours will offer an inside look at the industrial history and early use of M&S as well as a look at the state-of-the-art design engineering and exploration lab.

There will be overviews of NM&SC activities to support growth of MS&V across academia, industry, and government, in two briefings: one on NM&SC’s 2016 Research Report addressing a national Modeling & Simulation Research Agenda for Complex Engineering Systems, and one on the NM&SC initiative to add specific M&S Industry Labor Codes to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS).

Visit the NM&SC website for registration details.
