Hawaiian Airlines recently hosted 40 rising eighth-grade girls from Oʻahu for an immersive aviation workshop at its Honolulu headquarters. Partnering with the Hawaiʻi Department of Education, the airline introduced students to aviation careers through guided tours of its maintenance hangar, hands-on wire-splicing exercises with engineers, and sessions in Boeing 717 and 787 flight simulators.
Employee ambassadors, including pilots and engineers, shared their experiences and answered questions to highlight career possibilities in aviation. Jadyne Yomono, talent acquisition outreach program manager, noted the importance of connecting students with role models to encourage them to see themselves in aviation fields.
Hawaiian Airlines aims to inspire the next generation of aviation professionals through such programs, providing opportunities for local youth to gain early insight into the industry and its diverse career paths.
