EDM has successfully completed a Critical Design Review (CDR) with China Eastern Airlines for the build of two Boeing 787 Dreamliner door trainers.
After announcing its contract win with China Eastern Airlines earlier this year, a team from the carrier visited EDM in October to conduct a detailed technical review of the project to ensure that agreed performance requirements are met and the two door trainers are ready to proceed to the manufacturing phase.
Once completed, the door trainers will be shipped and installed at the airline's cabin crew training academy in Shanghai. They will be used to train cabin crew in the safe operation of the exit door of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner under a variety of normal, abnormal and emergency conditions.
EDM has previously manufactured an Airbus A320 and two Boeing 777 Door Trainers for China Eastern Airlines.
