SIM-TECH Manufacturing has completed two A321 R-2 door trainers for Alaska Airlines Group and received acceptance approval from SpiceJet in India for a B737 NG L1 door trainer and an NG OWE trainer.

The A321 R-2 doors are actual aircraft R2 doors reconfigured to allow for normal and abnormal opening for emergency situations. The trainers include a Panasonic instructor’s touchscreen, cabin lighting, exit lighting, handle jam, slide fail, auto open fail, flight attendant and passenger seats.

SpiceJet representatives visited SIM-TECH Manufacturing in Peachtree City, Georgia in the US to inspect the two completed trainers the airline ordered last year and gave their acceptance onsite.

The trainers were shipped to SpiceJet's training facility in Gurgaon, India in late May, and upon their arrival at SpiceJet's training facility, SIM-TECH Manufacturing will send representatives to Gurgaon to do final acceptance and conduct training sessions for SpiceJet personnel.
