VA-Airline-Training-launches-ACT-course-e1559160984500

Designed to address the crucial need to better prepare and develop the skills of commercial pilots for airline employment, VA has a launched a new three-day interactive Airline Career Training (ACT) course as a new addition to its Airline Ready suite of training courses.

The new ACT course has been developed to compliment andfollow-on from the enhanced European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)Airline Pilot Standards (APS) MCC training courses. The comprehensive coursecovers a range of personal skills development including understanding theairline industry economics, airline culture, sources of preparationinformation, making effective airline applications, achieving success in groupexercises, interviews and airline simulator assessments.

VA ACT courses are delivered and facilitated by highly experienced flight crew recruitment professionals, Ruth Spalding and Natalie Mitchell, both of whom have held management roles in pilot recruitment with easyJet.

The style and approach of the course is highly practical andinteractive in nature – developing positive attitudes and skills through ablend of presentations, trainee interaction and practical tasks (during thecourse and evening study) combined with regular critical review from bothtrainers and trainees.

A unique element of the course is that day three is scenario-based,conducted in VA simulators (A320 or B737) during which trainees will experiencethe opportunity to learn from and appraise the style and approaches adopted bycurrent airline pilot assessors in the simulator and how to focus their skillsto perform to the best of their ability.
