ALSIM announced the sale of an AL250 simulator to theUniversity of Dubuque. The simulator will be installed in the University’s EdBabka Aviation Learning Center, a new state-of-the-art flight operations centerscheduled to open fall 2019.

The University of Dubuque has a growing Aviation program,including Flight Operations and Aviation Management programs, both accreditedby the Aviation Accreditation Board, International (AABI). The university iscurrently using Cessna 172S, Piper PA-28R and PA44 aircraft to completetraining requirements in the Private Pilot (PPL), Instrument Rating (IR),Commercial Pilot (CPL), and Flight Instructor training course outlines.

“The ALSIM AL250 was designed with universities like Dubuquein mind. The simulator is compact, reliable and robust, with multiple flightmodels close to very popular training aircraft making it an ideal PPL, IR andCPL trainer,” says Dr. Scott Firsing of Alsim’s North America office in Texas.

The University of Dubuque’s AL250 will be equipped withAlsim’s own avionics system, ALSIM GPS.

“The ALSIM AL250 will provide our students with advanced simulation capabilities not only for flight training, but also in courses such as human factors, where they can utilize it in order to study various aspects of human machine interactions. This device will give us the ability to take our program to the next level in providing our students a well-rounded education that will prepare them for the next evolution in the aviation industry,” says Chaminda Prelis, head of Aviation Programs at University of Dubuque.
