L3 Commercial Aviation has been awarded a contract with EGYPTAIR to provide a new A320 RealitySeven Full Flight Simulator (FFS) for its Training Academy in Heliopolis, Cairo.
“Our partnership with L3 supports EGYPTAIR’s fleet modernization strategy, which requires an upgrade of our Training Academy’s simulation devices. This modern simulator is an important investment to serve EGYPTAIR’s new fleet,” said Captain Ahmed Adel, chairman and CEO of EGYPTAIR Holding Company.
“The new state-of-the-art device will complement the three L3 FFSs, which are already in operation and will support us in delivering our pilot training programs. This will also allow us to provide high-quality, third-party simulator time to other customers in the region at our Cairo-based Training Academy,” added Captain Abdel-Hady El Shakanqiry, the head of the EGYPTAIR Training Academy.
The selection of the device follows a rigorous technical evaluation and competitive tender process. L3 will provide an A320 Standard 2.0 RealitySeven simulator, complete with dual head-up display (HUD) functionality. It is scheduled to be ready for training in the summer of 2020.
