CAE select final two pilots for Women in Flight program

CAE have completed the lineup for its inaugural 2019 Women in Flight scholarship program.

Cindy Yoke Cheng Wong, 32, from Kuala Lumpur won the AirAsia cadet pilot program, while 24-year-old Alicia Hunt from California came out top from the American Airlines Cadet Academy.

The two will receive a full scholarship that will cover the cost of training at CAE, including accommodation and travel. They will join winners from Aeromexico, CityJet and easyJet.

"We are proud to complete the first edition of the CAE Women in Flight scholarship program with our five airline partners," said Nick Leontidis, CAE’s Group President, Civil Aviation Training Solutions.

"These brand ambassadors will help drive awareness, promote the pilot profession among women and encourage diversity in aviation."

CAE launched the annual program to create role models for the next generation of professional pilots.  The five winners demonstrated leadership skills, perseverance and passionate for aviation.

"Becoming a pilot can be challenging," said Wong. "I can be a role model for women who want to become pilots and show them what to expect."
