Rockwell Collins completes TCTS Inc. II program review for U.S. Navy

Rockwell Collins completed the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) of the Tactical Combat Training System Increment II (TCTS Inc. II) program with the U.S. Navy and was approved to begin detailed design work. The PDR was performed with the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Naval Aviation Training Systems (PMA-205) program office, and was attended by U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) members.

Rockwell Collins was selected as the prime contractor and systems integrator for the $142 million next-generation air combat training system along with collaboration and support from Leonardo DRS.

The TCTS Inc. II program will replace the Navy and Marine Corps’ training range infrastructure and improve the training effectiveness across all squadrons and fleet forces. The new system will support real-time operational air combat training for a variety of missions and platforms and will enable Live, Virtual and Constructive training by blending in live and synthetic elements. The program’s open system architecture with Multiple Independent Levels of Security (MILS) protects the tactics, techniques and procedures being used; aligns industry software standards and provides interoperability for joint and coalition training.
