Lockheed Martin wins US Army tactical vehicle modernization contract

Lockheed Martin won the U.S. Army Close Combat Tactical Training (CCTT) Manned Module Modernization (M3) contract to upgrade nearly 500 simulators for the service's tactical vehicle fleet. Work on the $356-million contract will modernize training and increase sustainability in support of emerging Army training requirements and systems.

The CCTT M3 system integrates all facets of combat vehicle operations to immerse soldiers in real-world battle scenarios through computer-based simulations. The system consists of computer-driven, manned-module simulators that replicate the vehicles found in close-combat units.

Lockheed Martin will partner with AVT Simulation and Dignitas Technologies on this contract for the development, production and fielding requirements for the Army. The contract supports Reconfigurable Vehicle Simulator (RVS) upgrades on the Abrams and Bradley vehicles to ensure the simulators remain concurrent with vehicles in the field, and includes modernization and support in place for the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle, Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle and other emerging Army ground vehicle platforms.
