VA Airline Training (VA)has welcomed four Titan Airways cadets, its first airline sponsored trainees of 2020, at its Cambridge training centre.

VA’s Managing Director Anthony Petteford, Titan Airways’ Pilot Manager Captain Matthew Wilson and other senior personnel from both VA and Titan Airways welcomed the cadets along with 2 self-sponsored cadets.

They will now embark upon a pioneering EASA multi-pilot training  programme that has been sponsored by the airline. It also combines APS MCC and Type Rating training at Cambridge with VA and Advanced (Multi-pilot) UPRT training with  VA’s training partner Ultimate High Academy at Goodwood. The newly qualified pilots will commence line operations out of Titan Airways’ Stansted base in June 2020.

"We were extremely impressed by the number of high-quality applications," said Captain Matthew Wilson, Pilot Manager for Titan Airways. "There were many deserving applicants and we very much hope to be able to offer more of them the same opportunity later this year."

Anthony Petteford, VA’s Managing Director, praised Titan for its approach. "Titan Airways’ forward-thinking decision to embrace the three Multi-Pilot training elements of APS MCC, Advanced UPRT and Type Rating into one seamless programme, reflects our own approach to training and will ensure graduates from either Modular or Integrated routes are fully prepared for airline operations."
