“We are making a commitment to transform the definition of airline cleanliness – Delta Clean,” says Delta Air Lines Chief Customer Experience Officer Bill Lentsch in a YouTube video (you can watch it here).

By early May, all aircraft will be “fogged” with a hospital-type disinfectant before each flight at every station in the Delta network, domestic and international. Hand sanitizers will also be provided at airport counters.

Delta is also using an EPA-registered disinfectant to wipe down common surface areas in galleys and lavatories.

The airline is also streamlining onboard foot and beverage services to lessen physical touchpoints between passengers and crew.

United Airlines will use an electrostatic fogger to disinfect the air and surfaces within the cabin on all international arrivals into the US.

American Airlines and United said they are also using high-grade disinfectants and multipurpose cleaners on all touch points: window shades, armrests, tray tables.
