Quantum3D, Inc. has unveiled a new release of Mantis, its award-winning real-time scene management and image generation software.
Some of new features in Mantis 3.5.2 release include improvements in the appearance of IR/NVG/EO Sensor channels, particularly 3D volumetric clouds and atmospheric effects; miscellaneous improvements in the support for CDB Common Database format terrains; and added support for dynamic vegetation (trees, grass, scrub) for CDB terrains. The new vegetation features react to localized wind sources, allowing for simulation of vegetation movement caused by, for example, helicopter rotor wash, which can provide important ground proximity training cues for pilots.
