Dr. Joel B. Mozer, United States Space Force (USSF) Director of Science, Technology and Research, will keynote the Serious Play Conference on 13 June 2022 at the downtown campus of the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Registrants can attend live or virtually.

Serious Play Conference is a leadership conference for professionals who are exploring the use of game-based learning for training and education. Serious Play is the only conference offering sessions on virtually every application of serious games and simulations.

“Serious play, or game-based learning, presents a vital opportunity to ensure United States Space Force Guardians are agile and proficient at accomplishing its mission and giving the US the competitive advantage over other countries,” Dr. Grace M. Bochenek, Director, School of Modeling, Simulation and Training, UCF. “Serious games and simulations are ideally suited for the exploration of new technologies that bring bold and imaginative solutions to hard problems.”

Dr. Mozer serves as the central lead for all science and technology matters for Space Force, an organization of approximately 11,000 space professionals worldwide, and manages a global network of satellite command and control, communications, missile warning and launch facilities.

He is responsible for the development of long-term military requirements for the Space Force and represents USSF science and technology on decisions, high-level planning, and policy, building coalitions and alliances throughout the U.S. government, industry, academia, the international community and other scientific and technology organizations.
