Training for Aviation’s Next Era

The 20th European Airline Training Symposium

8-9 November 2022 • Estrel Hotel, Berlin, Germany

This year's European Airline Training Symposium will see a first for the Cabin Crew Community: A Heads of Training Meeting.

Maybe you are a Cabin Crew Training Manager, a Chief Cabin Instructor, or perhaps a Manager Cabin Crew, whatever your title, the goal is the same: to train our Cabin Crew to the highest level possible.

If you have one of these titles, or roles, you are eligible to sign up to take part in this very important first discussion on Monday 7th November from 1600-1730 at the Estrel Hotel, Berlin, where our community can come together to discuss specific topics and plot the best way forward.

The idea came from the Heads of Training meetings that have taken place on the pilot stream of the conference for many years with great success. My hope is we create a similar valuable meeting place specifically for Cabin Crew trainers, build out our network and return annually to EATS in 2023 and beyond.

I'm delighted to say that Noel Houlihan from Aer Lingus and Braathens Regional Airlines' Emil Moberg will moderate our very first meeting in Berlin. The main topics to be addressed are:

  • Initial cabin crew training – the importance of a harmonised approach across the European Union.
  • Practical assessment of cabin crew, using competency based assessment.
  • Retention of crew post pandemic and the challenge of training to fill the void

Our goal is to learn from each other and to find best practices in different areas.

The meeting is designed to be a discussion-based forum, so please bring your own topics and questions so we can all share our best practices.

If you would like to take part in this meeting please email Anna Mellberg – anna.mellberg@novair.se
