Lockheed Martin has selected AVATAR Partners, a provider of Augmented Reality (AR) solutions and certified Microsoft Mixed Reality Partner, to develop an AR Advanced Visualization System (AVS) to automate model target recognition on the Microsoft HoloLens – reducing development time from weeks down to minutes.

For this project, Lockheed Martin’s Emergent Visualization (EV) Team selected AVATAR Partners to pioneer the labor-intensive aspect of AR development that involves precisely locking the AR overlay onto a target object.

“The Advanced Visualization System will support our EVOS team in the continued effort to streamline production-ready AR throughout the enterprise,” said Kurt Scheuringer, Software Engineer Stf, Advanced Visualization Principal Investigator at Lockheed Martin.

Using a middleware library designed for integration and scalability, the Advanced Visualization System reduces the time involved in repetitive and engineering-intensive tasks involved with AR development. It allows organizations to roll out high-quality AR faster and with reduced risk.

AVATAR Partners will be exhibiting at booth #1420 at this year's I/ITSEC, taking place 28 November - 1 December in Orlando, Florida. The company will exhibit its advancements in AR, IoT and artificial intelligence (AI) for the Department of Defense and Industry.
