Surf Life Saving Queensland has purchased the first entrol H14 FTD Level 5 simulator in Australia. entrol will install the device, based on the Bell 429, by mid-2023 in Surf Life Saving Queensland's base in Archerfield Airport, on the eastern coast of Australia.

This simulator will be equipped with real GTN 750 and GTN 650 units, entrol's cylindrical visual system with a 200-degree by 40-degree Field-of-view, entrol's high-end vibration system to replicate in-flight scenarios, and a forward-looking infrared camera based on FLIR.

“Some of the benefits to Surf Life Saving Queensland pilots utilising the entrol FTD device, based on the Bell 429, include improved safety and emergency procedure training, cost efficiencies, variable scenario selections and the ability to integrate and train with other aircrew procedures and activities,” said Ken Clark OAM, Surf Life Saving Queensland’s General Manager Aviation.

With the installation of this device, entrol will have a presence on five continents, achieving an important milestone for the company.
