Paragon Flight Training is entering its 20th anniversary year with the delivery of its 37th and 38th Piper P100i aircraft, received on December 16, 2025. The deliveries complete the third year of a five-year fleet acquisition plan totaling 50 Piper aircraft. The flight training academy is based at Page Field in Fort Myers, Florida, with additional locations in Punta Gorda, Florida, and LaGrange, Georgia.
President Chris Schoensee said the company’s decision to transition from leasing to owning aircraft played a central role in its fleet development strategy.
“Ten years ago, our school was growing quickly, but we realized future success would hinge on owning – not leasing – our aircraft; so, while we owned a few planes then, we shifted our mindset and business strategy toward fleet modernization and expansion,” Schoensee said.
Paragon Flight Training now operates a fleet of 38 aircraft, all Piper training aircraft, and is supported by ALSIM training simulators as it enters its 20th year of operations.
Paragon Flight Training was founded in 2006 by Kevin Schoensee, following his experience obtaining a recreational pilot’s license. The company’s early growth coincided with the introduction of digital avionics, including Garmin’s G1000 integrated flight display system.
Chris Schoensee, his wife Sarah Schoensee, and Chief Flight Instructor Jeff Wolf joined the organization in 2009 and became owners in 2010. According to the company, 2026 will focus on refining existing programs and operations rather than expansion.
