Entries for International Serious Play Awards Due June 15

Serious Play Conference has announced that the entry deadline for the 2023 International Serious Play Award Competition will be 15 June. The Award honors outstanding commercial and in-house learning-based digital and tabletop games as well as student learning games created for in Military, Government, Business, Non-Profit, Healthcare, Higher Education and K12.

Games produced in a college or university-affiliated studio with light guidance by faculty or learning games created by high school students with only modest guidance from school advisors qualify for the student category. Game produced by a university studio for sale to the commercial market must be entered in the professional category.

Entries are judged on several elements: how well-executed and clear the feedback, assessment and learning objects are; overall gameplay, which includes how engaging and interactive the game is; the orientation for the player and the aesthetics of the game.

“Entrants often say they appreciate judge comments as much as winning an award,” says Sue Bohle, Executive Director, Serious Play Conference.

Gold, Silver and Bronze winners from each category will be showcased during the 2023 Serious Play Conference, this year from 11-13 October, live at Toronto Metro University in Toronto, Canada.
