U-Wing Simulation (U-Wing) and Thai Aerospace Industries (TAI)  have signed an agreement at APATS 2023 for the purchase of a Cessna 172S FTD. The U-Wing C172 FTD  is qualified to CCAR-141 for FTD Level 5 equivalent to FAA FTD Level 5 and ICAO 9625 Type I & II. It will enter service at TAI Training Centre. Bangkok, Thailand in Sep 2023.

“U-Wing’s advanced flight training devices and repute for providing exceptional service and care made it the best choice to acquire the FTD to serve our growing training needs,” said Dr Chris Atswalongkorn, CEO TAI. “The advanced instructor operating station offers an intuitive interface with large multi-touch displays provide an instant flight profile reconfiguration which contributed to training and operational efficiency.”

Michael Wang, VP U-Wing, was in Singapore to attend APATS 2023 and said: “We are pleased that TAI is acquiring the C172S FTD from U-Wing. This transaction demonstrates our ability to consistently provide the highest quality training equipment for our valued customers in China and overseas."

The simulator to be installed in Bangkok will feature an avionic simulation system developed in-house by U-Wing. The 200 x 40 degree hard screen laser projector display offers a wide field of view with sharp image clarity. The FTD also features the stable and reliable G1000 NXi Avionic under Linux operating system. The simulation hardware is basically the same as the real aircraft, with high reliability and low maintenance cost.
