The Army aims to roll out key components of its training and simulation system in February, targeting an initial operating capability declaration by the year's end, Brig. Gen. William Glaser, director of the Army Synthetic Training Environment Cross-Functional Team told National Defense.

Speaking at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) in Orlando, he believes that 2024 will be a pivotal year for the program, with the Program Executive Office Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) set to deliver building blocks for the Simulated Training Environment Increment 1 to Fort Cavazos, Texas, in support of small, tactical-level units.
